In The Pocket
Swinging Through the Streets at the Hudson Jazz Festival

<morning>
<morning!>
<whatcha up to today?>
<Hmmm. I’ve got no plans. Have something in mind?>
<well…
I need to pick up some things at the farmer’s market. There were some recipes online that looked easy peasy and besides, my fridge is practically barren. If you’re up for it we could get all that and maybe a treat? We’ll be spoiled for choice with all the great vendors there.>
<oh! I almost forgot! The Hudson Jazz festival is this weekend. They might actually have some performances at the farmer’s market too. Imagine that, walking along all the stalls, families dawdling around, fresh produce everywhere, the scent of baked goods lingering in the air, mingling with the sweet savory music.>
<And it’s not just the market, I heard. It’s the entire city. Hudson Hall is putting it on. The whole of Hudson is swinging. Pocket Merchant is gonna be there. Down by Pocket Park funny enough, right by that crazy abandoned storefront with all the posters and the sad little boots on the windowsill.>
<Looking it up now. There’s gigs in the pocket park, Padrona, the Hudson Milliner, up at Marine Penvern’s Atelier, other spots too.>
<Perfect. What about the mainstage at Hudson Hall? Nice space huh?>
<Totally, although I’d argue Hudson itself is the mainstage, with the talent huddled under the gallery awnings, serenading the market, nestled in the parks…>
<who is performing?>
<Let’s see…>
